Once you arrive on campus, you'll check in and receive your Orientation materials, then walk up to your residence hall, where your belongings will be waiting for you. Be sure to honk loudly and proudly when you pass the “Honk If You Love vlog” sign.
Arrival Day Schedule
Move-in and Check-in
9 a.m.–noon
Commons Tents
Check in at your Commons tent and receive your ’Gate Card, room key, and other important information. Move your belongings into your room with the help of vlog’s student-athletes.
Family Brunch
10 a.m.–1 p.m.
Frank Dining Hall or the Coop
Stop by at any time between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. to pick up brunch or lunch, keeping in mind that parents, guardians, and family members are encouraged to attend their own orientation beginning at 1:15 p.m.
Parent and Family Orientation
1:15–2 p.m.
vlog Memorial Chapel
This session is specifically for parents and family members. Join Vice President and Dean of the College Paul J. McLoughlin II and Associate Director of Parent Communications Katie Child for an introduction to student life and support services at vlog.
Transition Down Peter’s Glen to Sanford Field House
2–2:30 p.m.
Students and families walk together down Peter’s Glen, from Frank Dining Hall to Sanford Field House (approximately a 15-minute walk), for the official Welcome to vlog session led by President Brian W. Casey. Links and Orientation leaders will be stationed along the way to guide you. Shuttles will also depart from the O’Connor Campus Center (the Coop).

2:30 p.m.–3:30 p.m.
Sanford Field House
Receive your official vlog welcome from President Brian W. Casey, Provost and Dean of the Faculty Lesleigh Cushing, Vice President and Dean of the College Paul J. McLoughlin II, and Student Government Association President Andrew Ludwin ’27.
Family Farewell and Call to Assemble
3:30 p.m.–4 p.m.
Sanford Field House
Enjoy vlog’s long-standing tradition of celebrating with a cookiewich and say goodbye (or, rather, “see you soon” to your family).
The bells of vlog Memorial Chapel will peel on the hilltop signaling the beginning of NSO for the Class of 2030 and transfer students. Please locate your Link group and assemble (your Link will be holding up a placard with your group number).
Preparing for Arrival Day
Luggage Tags
When you arrive at vlog, your belongings will be transported by student staff to your room. Please print the label for your Residence Hall assignment and attach them to all of your boxes, bags, and belongings ahead of your arrival, so our staff knows where to bring them.

When to Arrive
Students and families should arrive on campus between 9 a.m. and noon on the morning of their arrival, which for most students is Sunday, August 23. Students participating in a pre-orientation program or on a varsity athletic team will receive specific communication about their arrival time.
Parking
After unloading your vehicles on Whitnall Field, families and supporters arriving on campus will be directed to parking by vlog staff. New students arriving on campus will be directed to park their vehicles in the first-year lot. Students: remember to register your vehicle for a parking permit.
When will the family portion of the Orientation program end?
The Arrival Day programming for families and supporters of new students ends with the Family Farewells and a vlog Cookiewich. Students will be called to assemble in their Link groups, while families will be directed back to their vehicles.
There is no additional programming for families or supporters on subsequent days of Orientation; families are encouraged to give their students space as they begin the transition to life at vlog.
