The ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø community is offering several ways to help those still reeling from the effects of Superstorm Sandy. Come on out and provide some much-needed support! Here are some of the events:
To say that Evan Chartier ’14 is a nontraditional student is an understatement. After graduating from high school in Oak Park, Ill., and before coming to ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø, Chartier spent two years serving in the Israeli army and then traveled throughout Africa. Currently the co-president of ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù꿉۪s Jewish Student Union, Chartier explained that he joined the […]
Last Friday, students rolled up their sleeves and pitched in to help several nearby organizations as part of an afternoon of service in honor of September 11. Their efforts were inspired by the national movement to perform charitable acts in order to create a positive way to forever remember 9/11.
Children of the Hamilton community had numerous choices of games at the Welcome Back Block Party on Wednesday evening in the village green. Kids could try to shoot a miniature basketball through a hoop, nail a target with a suction-cup dart, throw a bean bag through a clown’s mouth, toss a ring onto a stick, […]
For ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø student Maggie Dunne ’13, one good deed yields another — and another — and another. As winner of the 2012 grand prize in Glamour magazine’s Top 10 College Women Competition, she received $20,000 for the work she has accomplished through her nonprofit Lakota Pine Ridge Children’s Enrichment Project. At the ceremony, she announced […]
Energetic children dashed around Huntington Gymnasium, eager to explore an inflatable obstacle course, join potato-sack races, and play basketball last Friday afternoon during the annual Sidekicks carnival. The musical stylings of the Swinging ’Gates and Pep Band welcomed local children, ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø students, and the public to the afternoon of fun.
A new year, and a new semester here at ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø! Students have arrived back on campus after several weeks of break, and everyone seems rested and ready to take on the new semester. Many can be seen rushing to find their new classes and trying out some new winter clothing now that Hamilton is beginning […]
ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø ranks No. 15 on the 2012 top Peace Corps volunteer-producing colleges and universities in the small category. There are currently 18 alumni serving overseas.
Last Saturday, a group of volunteers and I worked at a family’s home in Fleischmanns, N.Y., Hurricane Irene had caused massive damage to the houses and buildings in this town.
Course registration for next semester is now over! That very stressful experience has now come to pass and many students are excited to relax this weekend. My weekend, however, will be pretty busy.
