Hamilton village residents, ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø community members, and honored guests are reintroducing themselves to an old friend this week. The ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø Inn, closed for renovations since November 2010, is now open for business.

This past week was an adventurous one for me! On Wednesday, I visited the home of professors Pilar and Antonio Barrera. I went with my fellow Latin American Student Organization members and we enjoyed great food and conversation.

High school students have a lot to mull over as they consider which college or university might be the best fit. One factor is what major to pursue and what opportunities that major might provide after graduation. A new website tries to provide some answers to those questions for students looking at ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø.

Howard Fineman ’70, renowned political reporter, editor, author, and commentator whose pioneering career spans traditional and new media, will deliver the keynote address at ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø’s 190th commencement on Sunday, May 15, in Sanford Field House.

Manning Marable, a prolific author and founding director of the Africana and Latin American Studies Program at ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø, died Friday at age 60. He had taught in ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø’s Department of Sociology and Anthropology, starting in 1983, after having earned degrees from Earlham College (BA), the University of Wisconsin (MA), and the University of Maryland (PhD).
