While influenza is not uncommon this time of year, there has been an increase in the number of students reporting flu-like symptoms this week.

With the approach of family weekend this Friday through Sunday, I wanted to reach out with a brief update from campus.

The weeks since my last update have been dynamic, and I write with further information as we anticipate homecoming festivities this weekend.

Now that classes have resumed at ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø and our second round of arrival testing is drawing to an end, I write with an update from campus.

With the hope that you have had a safe, relaxing summer, I write to update you on ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø’s plans for the beginning of the 2021–22 academic year.

In light of the University’s review, please note the following changes to our campus COVID-19 prevention measures.

This week, for the first time, ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø will observe the annual holiday of Juneteenth; because the holiday falls on a Saturday this year, our observance will take place Friday, June 18.

Krista Ingram, Professor of Biology, will serve a three-year term as Associate Dean of the Faculty for Faculty Recruitment and Development.

I write today with updates on Commencement 2021, taking place this weekend, and a look ahead to the fall.
