Students in vlog’s German Department have not only been able to achieve fluency in the language and acquire academic expertise in the field of German Studies. They have also built on their knowledge and pursued independent research in the form of honors project in close consultation with one or more faculty members.

Research, Policy and Outreach on Contemporary Germanophone Europe

: Research, policy and programs on contemporary Germany and on the US-German transatlantic relationships. Includes podcasts, publications, news, webinars and further materials and information as well as ongoing projects.

: Supports interdisciplinary teaching and research on contemporary Germany and Europe and outreach to broader communities on social, political and cultural issues facing Germany and Europe today. Includes robust events schedule including many recorded webinars on anti-racism since this summer.

 (BPB): German government site on political education with rich resources on contemporary and historical social, cultural and political topics. Many resources are also available in English.

German Racial and Social Justice Organizations

: Activist organization for racial justice in migration society and support of the Black community and projects in Germany 

 (ADEFRA e.V.)

 (CIJ): A non-profit organisation founded in 2017 and based in Berlin. Engages in advocacy and policy-oriented research to make anti-discrimination and equality policy more inclusive and address structural inequalities more effectively in Europe.

: A feminist, anti-racist political group in Berlin with migrant and refugee women and non-migrant women as members. Fights patriarchy and documents everyday violence, racism, sexism and all kinds of discrimination.
